Seniors, juniors directed Student Showcase

The senior student directors and junior co-directors lead the rest of the actors to success in the Student Showcase on December 1-3.

The Student Showcase consists of a variety of “one acts” the students perform.

“The Showcase consisted of short “one act” shows (about 15-40 minutes), monologues, and scenes. All together it was about a two hour showcase,” said junior Anna Taylor.

In preparation for the Showcase, students rehearsed frequently and cooperatively with one another to perfect their acts.

“Rehearsing together brought all the actors closer and created a very strong bond. It was amazing to see everyone come together to make this Showcase amazing,” said sophomore Madison Fritz.

Aside from producing shows, theater engages every person into some cooperation with the production.

“I love how involved someone can get in all different aspects of theater; like building the sets, controlling lights, or of course acting. Everyone has some sort of contribution to the Showcase and that’s what I love about theater,” Taylor said.

Although, in previous years, the Showcase was called One Acts, this year was produced and succeeded similar to prior shows.

“This show was the most successful production we have had. After all the preparations and rehearsals, the actors came together to put on an unbelievable show.. It makes me so proud to be apart of theater when I see all of our hard work out on the stage,” said sophomore Keyshawn Wilson.
