French Class Field Trip To Alliance Franciase

French influences can be found deep in the heart of Chicago. AP French and French 3 recently had a chance to be exposed to French culture by making authentic French food, watch a French movie and polish their speaking skills at the Alliance Francaise in Chicago.

“I like making the food and working together. I also liked talking and learning outside of the school setting,” said senior Iraitza Torres.

For some of the students this was their first time coming to the Alliance Francaise. They enjoyed making a quiche, a traditional French dressing and a delicious chocolate syrup. Many also liked watching the French movie, “Le Petit Prince”.

“What we learned in class was very beneficial for the field trip. The best thing about the field trip was probably eating the food we made,” said senior Jonathan Martinez.

The students also had an opportunity to apply what they learn to real world situations and challenge their skills.

“My favorite part of the field trip was the food. Food is such a big part of French culture, and it was a really great opportunity to be able to cook traditional French recipes and have the instructions in French,” said senior Bridget Donnellan.
