Boys golf sets goals high, looks to improve team

The boys golf team looks to improve from last year with a newer, younger looking team.
“Our leaders for this season would be our two seniors, Jon Cesario and Brandon Kottmer, but also returning golfers, Adam Baker and Alex Wrobel,” said coach Tim Hough.
The boys golf team is coming into the season with team and individual goals.
“We would like to see our golfers improve individually, especially because of how young we are this season. We look to improve on our total victories from last year also,” Hough said.
Though their record has not been ideal, the boys golf team is confident in what they can achieve this season.
“The team is playing really well this year, and matches have been really competitive. We have also shown out well in tournaments. Our record does not show who we really are as a team right now, but I am confident that we’ll get some wins to close out the season,” said senior Jon Cesario.
The team is excited for upcoming matches and tournaments.
“We are improving as a team and are creating lower scores each match. We look to improve by decreasing our overall strokes even more than we have as the season goes on,” said junior Alex Wrobel.
The boys golf team has been competitive in all the matches they have competed in.
“We have played against a lot of tough competition, and we hung close with all of the teams. The one that sticks out to me is losing to a great Cary Grove team by only six strokes. This shows we can compete with anyone, and that shows a promising season ahead of us,” said senior Brandon Kottmer.
