Megan Davies-Senior Goodbye

As I come to my last article I will ever write for Grayslake North, I realize a couple of things. One: journalism takes a lot of effort and dedication. Two: it’s not always about whose article is the best and whose isn’t, it’s about how well you feel you did on the article. Three: the people that you meet in this class will always have a special place in your heart.
Until my junior year, I didn’t know there was a newspaper for the school. When I finally realized that there was one, I started to read them, and that’s when I knew I wanted to be part of the team. Being part of the journalism staff was the best decision I made my entire senior year. Now that it is coming to an end, it makes me realize how much this class has impacted my future.
I just wanted to thank every kid that was in the class for making my writing better than what it was before. I want to thank Mrs. Smith for putting up with my procrastination, and also helping me become a better creative writer. I also want to thank Mr. New for encouraging me to excel in ways I thought I couldn’t.
I want to thank all the hard working teachers at Grayslake North. If it wasn’t for all of you, I would have never found my passion for writing. Lastly, I want to thank all of the students and teachers who have ever picked up the newspaper and read it. It means a lot to know that some people are reading something you’ve put so much time and effort in to.
