It’s the new school year 2025, with the old seniors leaving and the new freshmen coming, and the people in between. Have you ever found yourself wondering what fashion trends are actually popular in your grade this year, not just what’s trending online? Hear from your classmates on what style they think is in right now for your grade.
Social media is full of fashion trends like influencers on TikTok, but what’s popular online doesn’t always match what people are actually wearing here at school. To get a better idea of what’s really in style, we asked students in different grades to share what trends they’re noticing around school. Their answers give a glimpse into what’s truly trending in the hallways this year.
Sophomore Ben Schweiss thinks the most popular fashion trend in his grade is that the late 90s trend is coming back.
“Probably really baggy jeans,” Schweiss said, “everybody is wearing baggy jeans all the time.”
Sophomore Allison Rivas would also agree with Schweiss when asked the same question.
“I see a lot of people with baggy jeans and babydoll tops,” said Rivas
The late 90s have made their way back to the sophomores!
But how exactly are these styles coming back? Where are the classes getting the clothes? Senior Maurice Jordan said that in his grade, these were the most popular stores.
“I think True Religion, Lululemon, purple jeans, Ksubi jeans, Hellstar and probably Shein.” Jordan continued, “But some stores I shop at are Nike, Under Armour and Rockstar.”
But that’s not all, the stores many people are shopping at, Freshman Rachel Fenwick says that for guys, it’s a new trending brand.
“I would probably say for guys it’s like that Sp5der hoodie,” Fenwick said. “And for girls, it’s probably things from Addicted.”
Whether it’s through high-end brands or even affordable places, students are finding their style in all different places and making it unique. Students are buying their clothes from many different places.
Sophomore Cece Tyndal described her style.
“Probably very comfortable, cause I wear mostly leggings and t-shirts,” said Tyndal. Comfortable never goes out of style
At the end of the day, school fashion is all about what feels right for each student, whether it’s baggy jeans, name-brand hoodies, or just sticking to comfortable leggings and t-shirts.
