Winter Guard member sophomore Tatiana Goodman performs with senior Isabella Latayan.

The Winter Guard team practices for three hours every Wednesday and three hours on either Monday or Tuesday in order to make and perfect their routine for competitions and showcases.
“In the Color Guard season, it’s all on the football field, but for Winter Guard, it’s on the basketball court. That’s why we perform at basketball games. It’s all on the courts inside,” said sophomore Lily Porter.
The indoor stage lets them practice and perform during the winter, but the recent cold snap made Winter Guard reschedule and start to fall behind.
Winter Guard has performed at one showcase, three basketball games, and two competitions as of Feb. 5.
“Considering the amount of time we’ve had to practice, we’ve been doing well and we’re excited to continue improving from here,” said sophomore Autumn Bush.
The performances include rifles and long flags and are choreographed by the coach Brittany Thomas, and their next competition is on March 3.
