This year on February 1, the cheer team went to IHSA cheer state and made it to the second day by placing in the top ten teams.

Cheer practices all year round with summer camps, conditioning for the winter season in fall, and cheering at sporting events. The team put their practice to use and placed third in Sectionals to get to State.

“I think we did really well. We did everything that we could, and that’s what we wanted to do and what we aimed to do. We did everything that we trained for out on the floor and that’s it. I’m proud of us,” said senior cheer team member Amanda Shulman.

Through all their tough practice and performance, cheer has grown closer together though their hard work. It shows in their coordination and teamwork on the floor.

“For me, I’ve been on the varsity team for four years, so I’ve been at this State for four years and nothing compares to the feeling that we all had today. This team and the bonds that we have, it’s unreal. We all love each other so much,” Shulman said.

Be sure to check out cheer at assembles, games, and competitions throughout the years.
