The boys golf team finished an impressive season, accomplishing goals and setting new records.
“I think the season went great for me. As far as the team goes, we played well and completed a lot of our goals,” said junior Michael Harrison.
Boys golf began back in early August and finished October 8 at their Sectional Tournament.
“Our main goals for the season were to improve on our win total from the prior season, which we were able to do by three wins. We also wanted to improve as individuals. We definitely improved on our team goal and many players did improve either during the season or from the prior year,” said varsity coach Tim Hough.
Seniorn Adam Calhoun had many accomplishments during his last season of golf. He tied a school record for the lowest round in a nine hole match with a 1 under par 34. He also qualified for Sectionals.
“It was a good season for me since I was able to accomplish so much. I’m sad to have to end my high school golf career, but I did my best and I’m proud of that,” Calhoun said.
As a team, they improved their 18 hole matches throughout the season. As for next season, returning players hope to continue improving.
“Our goal for next year is to shoot lower scores more consistently as a team and I would like for each player to lower their average by 3 to 5 strokes from this past year,” Hough said.
