Mrs. Foate, Danielle Lacke recount special bond

When Danielle Lacke first met Jamie Foate during her junior year, the first thing they noticed about each other was their mutual love of the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

“She continued to foster my love for UW-Madison. We always talked about it. She helped me write my college essays, and she always pushed me to achieve my goals,” Lacke said.

Foate loved having Lacke in AP English Language and Composition, and they always enjoyed class together.

“Danielle brought so much energy to class. She made it fun to come to class each day, and she balanced the seriousness of [AP English Language and Composition] with wit and her sharp sense of humor,” Foate said.

Even though Danielle will be attending UW-Madison for college, just as Foate did, she will dearly miss having Foate around every day. They always make time to catch up when they both have off periods, and they spend time together at Pen and Paper meetings.

“I will most miss just talking with Mrs. Foate and having fun with her. She was an amazing teacher and friend throughout the last two years of high school,” Lacke said.
