Swimmers+compete+at+Sectionals

Four swimmers at Grayslake North qualified for Sectionals for boys swimming. Sectionals is the swimming event before State.
Sophomore Gabe Beutel qualified for Sectionals in the 400 yard IM and 200 yard backstroke. He placed fifth in the 200 IM. Beutel has been swimming for Blue Devil Swim Club for three years. He prepared for Sectionals by training 22 hours a week.
“I started swimming for a summer team and enjoyed it, so I started swimming for Blue Devil Swim Club and have been devoted ever since,” Beutel said.
Sophomore Alex Larrivee placed fifth in the 500 free. He has been swimming for six years. He accomplished getting fifth place in the 500 free at Sectionals. He also swims for the Blue Devil Swim Club.
“I used to do triatholons and I wanted to get better at swimming, so I started swim team,” Larrivee said.
Junior Adam Chwieros placed fourth in the 50 free and fifth in the 100 free. He prepared for Sectionals by practicing six times a week. He swims for Cats Aquatics.
“I began swimming at a very yoiung age. My mom threw me in a pool, and I always loved it,” Chwieros said.
