The

Green Room Theater was preparing for the Student Showcase that had opened on November 30 and then ran December 1 and 2.

The students prepared by having rehearsals four days a week, doing voice lessons and working extremely hard to create their own piece of theater and something they can make their own.

This is important to the students, especially the seniors, because it is the last play of the semester.

“It is important for senior theater students to take all that they have learned from their theatre classes and from their experiences in our mainstage productions and to be able to create their own productions. It is very rewarding for them,” said Green Room sponsor Clare McConville.

Being on a short schedule with only four weeks until opening night, the company feels that they have struggled, but they have managed.

“I have faced some struggles with the short amount of time that we have and being distracted with things I am preparing for college, but I am proud to say that I am still on track with everything that I have to do,” said director Rhaya Montoya.

They are excited about having the last showcase of the semester and being able to show their hard work.

“I am excited about this being the last play of the year, and I am excited to spend time with my theater ‘family’,“ said sophomore Sam Krischak.
