Boys soccer ends their season by finishing third in conference. The boys hope to stay together throughout the year and show their discipline in and out of school.
The last game they played was against Grayslake Central, a rivalry team; the score was a 1-0 win for Central.
“Our best game played was against Glendale Brook, and they took the lead that game 2-1,” said varsity coach Adam DeCaluwe
DeCaluwe has been coaching for 14 years and teaches players lessons that they can use in and outside of soccer.
“I think coaching sports at the high school level allows us to make incredible relationships with many of our student athletes with the hopes of sharing not only passion for the game of soccer, but also teaching lifelong lessons that will surely help our students in their future endeavors,” DeCaluwe said.
Senior Joshua Suciu has been playing soccer for all four years in high school and spent three of them on varsity.
“Soccer has showed me that the path to success is not easy and has many ups and downs,” Suciu said. “Every loss makes you stronger; every mistake makes you smarter.’’
Senior Logan Perhacs explains how soccer has impacted him over his high school experience.
“Soccer has showed me that if I put my mind to something and work hard at it I can achieve anything I want,” Perhacs said.
According to Perhacs, ending the season will be a sad experience.
“I’m sad the season ended, but the soccer team is family, so we’ll always be together somehow,” Perhacs said.
