After a successful Florida spring break trip, baseball looks to continue their success into conference play.

“In Florida, we got to play in some great weather and grew closer together over the week at Disney,” said senior Jack Van Reck.

Varsity went 4-1, and had highlight games including: winning 10-0, and winning in extra innings against last year’s Pennsylvania state champs.

Since their return from the sunshine state the varsity baseball team is 17-6 (10-4 in conference) after successful conference series wins over rivals Grayslake Central and Lakes, as well as Wauconda and Grant.

“I’ve really seen our ability to be mentally tough and bounce back from adversity. That’s what good teams really need to do” said Van Reck.

“We have to just keep on working hard and getting better every single day in order to go as far as we can and reach our maximum talent level” said senior Johnny Rennolds.

They still have a conference game against Round Lake (senior day on 5/12) and a conference series against Antioch, along with scheduled games against Zion, Libertyville, and Carmel Catholic.

“We have a shot to do something great and we really want to add to that banner that we see everyday as we walk into school” said Rennolds.

The rest of the reason is shaping up to be an exciting one as baseball has their eyes set on doing all the little things right in order to win.
