On April 25, National Honor Society inducted 88 new members and 6 new officers. Students participate in the ceremony and welcome new members and their families while saying goodbye to the graduating members.
“New officers were elected. They all gave a speech on how they could improve the society, and then the current members voted for five vice presidents and a president. They also helped organize the ceromony for new members” said junior Kate Pasmore
Sage Lawson was chosen as the president, and the five vice presidents chosen are Sarah Rauch, Kat Llanes Smith, Riley Cummings, Joe Rice, and Emily Reinwald.
“Inductions are a reminder of the pillars of scholarship, service, leadership, and character of National Honor Society, and a way for students to reflect upon their past accomplishments and look forward to their future work,” said sponsor Erin Wise.
The ceremony serves as an introduction to everything the club stands for and a chance for new members to feel welcome.
“Inductions are exciting because they are very formal and make a big deal of everyone there having been accepted into National Honor Society. The ceremony is formatted like a graduation, and it is exciting to be congratulated on entering a society where you get to help the community and the school,” said inductee Amanda Lennes.
