Table tennis club is an after school activity that starts in the fall. Jesse Wolter is the coach of the club with 20-30 kids that join the club yearly.

All students are eligible to join, pending a short meeting with Jesse Wolter. Table tennis Club consists of students who are looking for a very fun and enjoyable sport.

“There are about 40 students that come every year, but only about 20 to 25 show up every session,” said senior Adam Baker.

Every player that joins gets involved right away. Practices once every 2 weeks, and tournaments occur every so often. There becomes a competitive atmosphere between students, as there are school rankings for those who compete.

“Throughout the year, there are about six to seven tournaments a year, and meetings,” Baker said.

The club starts in the fall and goes until spring. The season is very lengthy due to the meetings throughout the weeks and about a tournament a month.

“Anyone can join upon a short informational meeting with Mr. Wolter,” said senior Nick Koziol.

Players are provided with the necessary equipment. The objective is aimed for players to enjoy playing, as well as respecting the equipment. Multiple tables are given for the club, so many games can go on a once.  Tournaments throughout the season improve player’s skills and confidence. Everyone who joins the club participates in the tournaments, progressing over time.

“The 15-20 kids that show up for the club always participate and get involved in our tournaments,” Koziol said.

Table Tennis Club is an after school activity for all who enjoy a challenge. The club gives students the competition they desire that other sports cannot bring. Mr. Wolter shows players to work hard and play hard while also having sportsmanship.
