Boys Bowling looks to next season

The boys bowling team’s season has come to an end at Regionals. Despite the team not advancing to Sectionals, hope will not falter as they now look toward the future. The young team is excited to see what next season holds.
Since the boys bowling program began three years ago, they have consistently made sure to work hard every day to improve at meets.
Coach Greg Geiger had set the expectation of Sectionals early in the season.
“My only expectations for this year were to qualify for Sectionals as a team. We have no conference, so all of our matches only count to an overall record and not toward team standings. With our focus on Sectionals, we are able to have one goal as a team,” Geiger said.
Team moral did not wane towards the end of the season as everyone focused on the positives of the season rather than the negatives.
“I would say we have all grown as bowlers and as people. We all now see what it takes to be great bowlers, and we ended the season having fun,” said senior varsity starter Danny Yates.
The season was dubbed a success regardless of the goal for advancement to Sectionals not being met, but many personal goals were realized and achieved.
“I would say the season was successful because we got better; unfortunately we did not advance as a team. Gradual improvement within the team was exciting to see for the future,” said senior varsity starter Cole Pelegrino.
As the season has come to an end, they must now look forward to the future.
“While next year may feel like a rebuilding year, right now I am confident that we have returning JV bowlers who can step into varsity roles,” Geiger said.
