Students unite to establish a healthy lifestyle

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is extremely important; however, maintaining a healthy lifestyle is a lot easier with role models, role models that are students, and that’s exactly what Knights United is.
Knights United is a group of students who are recognized for their leadership qualities.
“We were chosen last year to go to a conference, and we have meetings every now and then,” said senior Aidan Walsh.
Knights United is not only something that can help individuals live a better lifestyle, but it can better GNHS.
“Knights United helps because it makes a better community and just spreads happiness around,” Walsh said.
To be part of Knights United, one would have to be recognized for their success in following the four pillars and then will be recruited by those already involved.
“You have to follow the four pillars and then we will invite you. The four pillars are, Wellness, Stress Free, Nutrition, and no Alcohol or Drugs,” Walsh said.
The goal of Knights United is for students to have a healthier lifestyle,
“Even if it’s just getting eight hours of sleep every night, it seems small, but it can make a big difference,” Walsh said.
Knights United can impact us tremendously because it gives students an easier way to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
“We promote good sleep habits, healthy eating, for students to remain substance free, and be active,” said senior Jacque Garza.
Being healthy can be difficult for those who simply don’t have enough time to put their health first, whether or not it’s mental or physical.
“Sometimes in our busy lives, us students forget to take care of ourselves. It’s important to remember not to spread ourselves too thin to the point where we can’t take care of ourselves. Mental and physical health are super important,” Garza said.
The life of a student or teacher can be extremely busy, and it’s important to take care of ourselves and allow ourselves to keep on doing a good job.
In the near future, Knights United may recruit students who follow the four pillars and have excellent leadership characteristics.
“I’d like it to be a lifestyle everyone wants to live. Right now our group is small, but I hope to see our numbers grow in the future,” Garza said.
