Boys Golf season ends at Regional tournament.

The Boys golf team has had a good season, but cannot get past the Regional tournament.

The lowest round at the Regional tournament was an 88 shot by senior Adam Baker.

The other scores at the tournament were the 90s by senior Jack Dobovsky and junior Brian Szramek, 91s by seniors Alex Wrobel and Joey McHugh, and a 96 by junior Lane Getka.

“Our best score in a tournament was the 359 we shot at the Regional, so it was nice to have our best score the last match of the year,” said coach Tim Hough.

The boys had three golfers place for all-conference seniors Alex Wrobel, Jack Dubovsky, and junior Lane Getka. At the conference tournament the boys won second place in Conference.

“It was cool getting all-conference in my senior year, it’s great being able to leave in that way,” said Alex Wrobel.

Adam Baker won the team most valuable player award, and Jack Dubovsky won most improved player and the sportsmanship award.

“It was an honor to be given the sportsmanship award and most improved in the same season. It’s great having that much of an impact on my team,” Jack Dubovsky said.

The boys finished with a record of 6-4 after not winning a match in conference last year.

“I was hoping we would be able to get the most wins we ever had, and we did, so I was very happy with that,” Hough said.

The boys also were close to setting a school record in lowest round.

“We came close to setting a new school record for low score with a 158 which was only two strokes off. Adam Baker tied a school record for lowest score for an individual with a 1 under par 34,” Hough said.

The boys golf team will miss seniors Adam Baker, Alex Wrobel, Joey McHugh, Jack Dubovsky, and Alex Hartigan who will graduate this year.
