Boys basketball begins season undefeated

The boys basketball team begins the season at the Thanksgiving tournament held at Johnsburg and Richmond-Burton High Schools.
The Knights opened the tournament with a matchup against rival school, Lakes Community High School.
“The opening torunament meant even more knowing we were playing them first,” said senior Bobby Krebs.
The success of the Knights comes from a new game plan and style of play for the games.
“We want to run and get up and down the court as fast as possible. That is our best way to score, and it seems to be working for us so far,” Krebs said.
The Knights are 5-0 including first place hardware from the Johnsburg/ Richmond-Burton Tournament over Thanksgiving break.
“The strong start is great for the team as only two players had heavy varsity experience for North before this year (seniors Einloth and Krebs). The success adds confidence for everybody which we look to build on as we go into a tough month with many rival opponents, including Lakes and Grayslake Central,” said senior Aidan Einloth.
The undefeated Knights came into this season with high expectations for the team, and the strong start keeps them on track to fulfill those goals.
“As a team, we are looking to compete for both Conference championship in our last year before the new conference and a Regional title. We know we have the ability to do things this program has never done before,” Einloth said.
The momentum from the end of last season has helped the team shape their ideal season for this year.
“We took second place in Conference last year when we were right in contention, so we look to win it all this year. Also, we’d like to win the first Regional Championship in school history. After our overtime loss to Lake Park last season, we have a chip on our shoulder going into this season hoping to extend the season as long as we can in playoffs,” Krebs said.
