Girls golf advances to sectionals after successful season

The first season for the girls golf team has come to a close after a very successful year that involved the girls having a long post-season run into Sectionals.
This season, the lady golfers teamed up with the Grayslake Central lady golfers to make one D127 girls golf team. The girls had an excellent season finishing with a record of 8-2. The ladies also earned second place in conference only behind Crystal Lake Central. Golfers Ireland Dunne, Dhani McDowell and Kim Balling all earned the All-Conference award.
“It feels great to win All-Conference in knowing that you are one of the top golfers in the whole conference,” McDowell said.
The team stepped up in Regionals, earning third place and advancing on to Sectionals.
“I didn’t expect this great of a season, especially since it was the first time the school ever had a team just for the girls,” said junior golfer Kara Ahlemeyer.
“The whole experience of golfing this season was something I will never forget,” Hesse said. “It’s a mixture of fun and a little competitiveness for some”.
Everyone is looking forward to next year and improving in the off-season.
