Boys play through successful baseball season

The boys baseball season is underway with a current record of 10-15-1.

Most recently, the team had competed against Grayslake Central and lost, with a score of 5-3.

One of the highlights for the team this year was the opportunity to compete at Miller Park in Milwaukee.

“I think my personal favorite memory from this season was the opportunity to have our guys compete on the Milwaukee Brewers field at Miller Park. Not every high school kid gets to play a game on a major league field,” said head coach Brett Hill.

There are a lot of new and returning players who can show off their skills on the field.

“Our returning players have been very good leaders for us so far this year. Marcus Gawerecki leads the team in almost every offensive category, but he’s also been one of the best leaders by example in the way that he approaches practices, games, and workouts,” Hill said.

Baseball can offer students a fun opportunity and a great community within the school. Competing at games can be a lifelong memory for students who participate.

“My favorite part about coaching baseball is getting to know all of our players on and off the field. We have so many different personalities, and I really enjoy seeing them come together as a team,” Hill said.
