JV girls basketball wins against Round Lake high school at home

On the 10th of December, it was the JV girls basketball team’s 6th game of the season. The team’s record was 1-4 and with an overall team effort, the team won against Round Lake 21-17.

North started off down by two points in the first quarter. The team didn’t look like themselves and was a major setback.

“Walking into the game, I for sure felt like Round Lake would be an easy win. They definitely made us work, though, and they played really hard. We were down in the first half, which showed we weren’t focused, and obviously, we weren’t doing something right,” said sophomore Ari Thompson.

After the first half, the team got focused and played as a team. By the end of the third quarter, North was up 16-12.

“By halftime, our coach was reminding us that we were still in it and that good small plays can help build up to a win,” said freshman Mikayla Joy.

In the fourth quarter, with multiple stops and buckets from both teams, North pulled through with the win 21-17.

“It was a rough start, but we made a great comeback and finished the game with a win,” said freshman Angie Sauls.
