The boys soccer team had a good season in playing together and having fun.

Despite being delayed because of COVID, the boys soccer team had a successful season.

The team worked to get back into shape quickly as their season began in March this year.

“We practiced the typical amount, but had to try to work our way back into shape, while playing, since we were not able to start in the typical condition we would otherwise,” said coach Adam DeCaluwe.

The boys were not able to play their usual amount, for several months, and thus were not necessarily in the kind of shape they would like to be in for competing at this level.

“The season was about four weeks long, and the team ended with a record of 2-5 in conference play. Unfortunately, we did not win more than we won last season,” DeCaluwe said.

Still, the players left with fond memories of the season.

“Well, we did what I love most, so this season was great,” said senior Alexis Sereno. “Its definitely a change for one, but I feel that this season will go great. I  think it affects this season specifically a lot, for example the social distancing and mask wearing. We had a good amount of practice overall.”

Because of the ongoing pandemic, players were required to follow health and safety protocols.

“This season is great but different,” said Edwin De ita Cruz. “We had to wear masks this season. Our temp was checked before games. This season was great but could be longer though. Even with some limits, this season boys soccer athletes still had a great time. There was the same amount of practice as before. It was short. We had more losses this season than our last season.”

“We had a good amount of practice overall,” Sereno said. “Well, we did what I love most, so this season was great.”
