“On The Fence” was by far the best book I’ve ever read. I felt connected to the main character Charlotte Reynolds, also known as Charlie. She reminded me of parts of myself and made me feel the emotions she felt. Charlie grew up with three brothers, a dad, and one “honorary fourth brother.” Being a tomboy growing up with nothing but guys surrounding her, she found a love for football with her brothers and their friends. Through a story full of surprising new twists, sad personal stories, and love, Charlie slowly begins to find herself through new experiences.

Kasie West is an amazing female author, and she has published many romance literature novels that I also recommend you read. In the book, Charlie has to pay off a speeding ticket, and after she gets a job, things start to change in her life, and her brothers don’t like that. In her job, she finds her way into makeup, but hiding it from her family only makes them feel pushed away. As she has midnight talks through a fence, Charlie opens up to Branden, her “honorary fourth brother.”

Nobody understands what’s going on with Charlie, and slowly her family starts to feel like they’re losing her. Charlie begins to feel lost and even more confused than before, and just when she thinks things can’t get any more complicated, her world is shell shocked with a new revelation.

I really like this book because it relates to many personal teen struggles, growing up, finding yourself, and new experiences. Even if you’re not a tomboy, there’s something in there for everyone.

“On The Fence” is a book with many emotions, many interesting events, and capturing details. If you need a new book to read, I suggest picking up this one.
