Knights football plays against Antioch
The night started with Grayslake North’s varsity football team running onto the field to face their opponent for the night, Antioch.
The clock started to count down to nine minutes and twenty-nine seconds when Antioch scored their first touchdown, making the score Knights 0 and Antioch 7. Once the score had differed, the Knights knew they would have to work together and work harder.
“I think we could be a little better and I know we can, but it’s not bad.” said junior Nicole Martinez
During the second quarter, one of Antioch’s wide receivers got injured. All players then took a knee and the crowd took a seat. The player got back up to rejoin the game, and claps from both sides filled the air.
The final score Friday night was 38 to 0, with Antioch taking home the win. Next week the Knights take on the Lake’s Community High School Eagles at home.
