Boys tennis looks to advance to Sectionals
The boys tennis team is currently 6-4 and just came off a 7-0 victory over North Chicago on May 1. The team is looking to build off of their success from last year as NLCC champions.
The team is hoping that some of their players will go to Sectionals.
“The year is going well for us, and we beat our crosstown rival Central, a team we almost tied for conference last year,” said head coach John Kent.
Varsity tennis player Matt Pawlowski has been playing tennis for eight years and has enjoyed every year. Pawlowski’s main goal this year is to qualify for State.
“I want to qualify for State because it would mean a lot to me, and I think I could put in the work for that to happen,” Pawlowski said
Pawlowski learend how to play tennis because it’s a lifelong sport, and it’s easy to pick up.
“Tennis has been a lifelong sport, so I had to do it in high school because the love I have for it,” Pawlowski said
Tennis player freshman Shawn Rhodes is playing tennis for the first time this year. Rhodes is already planning to join next year with a goal of being better.
“I will play next year because I had such a blast playing this year that I want to play next year,” Rhodes said
