Boys basketball finished the season with a record of 13-15.
“I’m not sure that I have coached a team that improved more in the second half of a season than this year’s team, which is a credit to how our kids refused to quit at any point in time,” said varsity coach Todd Grunloh. “We were down early in the season, and our kids came to practice every day with the intent of getting better, which they did.”
The players continued to work hard and found a connection with their teammates.
“The season started off a little rough as we were finding it difficult to get in the groove of things, but after the rough start, the rest of the season was pretty good and we ended off on a pretty good note,” said senior Louis Lopez. “Personally, I didn’t have a good enough season myself as I was hoping for, and it kind of sucks that it’s my senior year, but we did tremendous work as a team.”
Once the team found their chemistry, they began to improve their record.
“We had a bond together that made us work well together. I was really impressed with everyone’s dedication to improve whenever or wherever. We were always learning and finding new opportunities to get better,” said junior Austin Martineau.
The coaches are optimistic, but they knew that there is always things to improve on.
“We are not going to be a huge team next year, but rebounding isn’t all about size, it’s about having the desire to get a rebound,” Grunloh said.
The team will be graduating six seniors: Alexander Cisneroz, James Connolly, Riley Falson, Louis Lopez, Jason Ritter, and Jon Smithson.
