Boys cross country team ends season third in NLCC
The boys cross country team placed third in the Northern Lake County Conference meet, and at Regionals, the team placed seventh.
Junior Connor Riss placed second, and sophomore Brandt Batteau placed tenth at Regionals, qualifying both of them for Sectionals on October 28.
“A couple of goals that I have accomplished are that I am an All-Conference runner, and I have won a meet. My overall goal was just to be the best runner that I can be, and I think that I have met that goal as well,” said junior Connor Riss.
The team is excited about their scores at their\\ competitions and are hopeful for the future.
“[At the Conference meet] the boys finished third with Connor Riss finishing second overall and Brandt Batteau in fifth to earn All-Conference honors,” said coach Matthew Zaluckyj.
The team has beat many personal records and set many goals for the team itself.
“I beat my personal record from last year, and it made my whole season,” said senior Connor Brennan.
“I am hoping we place in both competitions because that would really make this season worthwhile,” said senior Seneca Lawson.
Although they have faced some struggles, they have their heads up, ready to run fast and continue to remain optimistic despite any failures that they may experience.
“I love watching the hard work that the athletes start putting in all the way back and the pay off at the end of the season,” Zaluckyj said.
