Students keep higher grades while being involved
Ever thought how students are able to manage to keep their schoolwork current and also manage to be involved in any clubs or sports? Well GNHS students have it all under control. Ever thought how students are able to manage to keep their schoolwork current and also manage to be involved in any clubs or sports? Well GNHS students have it all under control. Students are either involved in sports, clubs, or may even be having a part-time job outside of school. They have the option to see if being involved in things can go with their time management. “[With what I am involved in] I definitely consider myself as a student activist. I try to my best to go to protests outside and make sure that injustices are not occurring at school, said senior Natalie DaVila. With having to deal with clubs, sports, or jobs, students find ways to manage to work their time efficiently in order to finish their schoolwork as well. “It’s all about managing your time. I sit down. I make a list of what I’m going to do and what I’m not going to do, and I will always try my best to not procrastinate,” said senior Jon Smithson. If students somehow do not finish their work on time and they are stressing about it, they eventually find a way possible to finish before school starts. “[If I don’t finish my work,] I stay up really late and try and finish my work on time,” said senior Tony Cruz. Some students struggle with dealing with their time management and others do not struggle at all. Students give other students advice just in case they are struggling. “[My advice is] put your work first, friends later, turn off your phone, turn off your TV, basically any distractions, then get right to work,” Smithson said. If students have trouble struggling and they think that they are about to give up, they figure out how to fix everything. “[If I struggle] at my break, I try to do my schoolwork, but there’s always a lot of distractions. I always try to get my work done,” Cruz said.
