The girls golf program works toward personal and team goals as they work through their season.
Girls golf has competed sixteen times. Their best finish is sixth place at the District 117 Invite. Their low team score in duals is a 199 shot against Grant.
“Our main goal is to continue improving our team and individual scores and hopefully beat our conference opponents in duels in the process,” said coach Scott Ewen.
Girls golf practices at Brae Loch Golf Course as well as at the Grayslake Golf Center Driving Range.
“Brae Loch is our home course, so practicing there is a great opportunity to work on our long range and accuracy. This season I would like to improve upon my putting. We are working on committing only two putts for every hole. I think it’s going to be a great season, especially with our new members,” said sophomore Cara Delacluyse.
Tournaments not only provide an opportunity for the girls to demonstrate their skills, but they also are fun. The girls get to bond as a team and spend time together even though the team consists of girls from both Central and North.
Girls golf hopes to follow through on their goals and be a competitive force in competitions.
“Our main focus is to be competitive in each competition. The best part is the fun we have at practice. Every day it’s enjoyable to be around the team,” said coach Tom New.
