Personal Finance helps students learn to manage money
Personal Finance is a class where students learn how to manage money, do tax forms, and learn more about the federal government. The class is taught by Tony Bussone throughout the day.
“We learn a lot about real life situations and how we can apply it to our lives,” said Kevin Kang.
Students who take the class become well equipped with knowledge before getting sent into the real world. These students will have a better chance with saving money and becoming a millionaire! Guest speakers came into the class and spoke about credit, saving money, and mortgages.
“The speaker came in and talked about budgeting which is something I covered. We watched Dave Ramsey video’s. Both the speaker and Dave Ramsey do a really good job explaining the importance of it all to the class and how they would be able to manage it,” said teacher Tony Bussone.
Starting to save money at a young age is super important. It allows people to retire with the right amount of money. Not only is saving the money important, but using it wisely is important. One mistake can lead to many others that could hurt your credit, your job, and your overall life.
“Having the opportunity to learn more about financing really helps especially because I’m a senior and I will be going to college soon,” said Brittany Hansen.
A majority of students get jobs to help with money so they can go out with friends, get Dunkin Donuts every morning, or buy lunch for SLO.
Having the opportunity to learn about chances to improve your future self is a chance everyone should all take. Personal Finance is one of these opportunities. Students learn about credit, saving, loans, and interest.
