Dance team begins their competition season

With competitions coming up through December and January, the varsity dance team’s competition season has begun. They have been preparing throughout the summer, with three days a week practices along with conditioning.
The team has set high goals for this upcoming season. After four years of missing State, last year the team made it to State, and they hope to make it again this year.
“We want to make it to State, and to do that we have to place in the top six of Sectionals,” said coach Keeley Thode.
With the new conference, the team believes that the new schools will not only be great competition, but will also help them improve within the season.
“It’s nice having a new conference. We have new teams to compete against and learn from. Dance is about always improving something,” said senior Emily Brown.
The team had their first competition in Mundelein on Sunday, November 20.
“It’s the best feeling stepping onto the floor and knowing all this work you’ve put into this routine is finally being put to use,” said senior Stephanie Krnich.
