Boys Soccer Competes against Grayslake Central

 

On Thursday September 29, the boys soccer competed against Grayslake Central in the “Pack the Place” game before Homecoming. The game was very close. It continued into penalty kick shoot outs where Grayslake Central won.

“Our goal was ultimately to win but the team played well and” Said assistant coach Jesse Wolter.

In the eighth minute of the game, senior Carlos Alfaro scored a goal which put North in the lead, however, about thirty seconds later, Grayslake Central scored tying the game.

“Watching the game was really tense because of how close the score I was on the edge of my seat when the game was still tied after overtime,” said sophomore Kellyanne Critzer.

The atmosphere at the game was different from other games.

“It is always interesting playing Central. Both teams play their hardest and the energy is between teams is really fun,” Wolter said.  

Although the team was looking to win, they had to settle for a close loss central won by one point during a sudden death penalty kick shootout.

“We wanted to win ofcourse but I think that we played well. Even though we lost, we know we played our best,” said sophomore Matthew Heery.
