Slam Funk Rocks Their New Year’s Eve
Slam Funk has returned from winter break with a little pep in their step after a great performance on New Year’s Eve.
Slam Funk has recently performed at Carillion North Senior home center on New Year’s Eve for many grateful senior citizens.
“You could tell the audience was very appreciative of us being there because many of the people got up and started dancing,” said guitarist John Steffen.
The performance was a great experience for all of them and definitely made the band feel amazing.
“The people were so friendly and just so active and playful with us. It was hands down one of our most fun performances,” said singer Allyson Lovato.
Slam Funk performed some of their favorite songs for the senior citizens.
“We played “Ain’t No Mountain” and “Can’t Get Next to You”. We know these sounds pretty well and are confident in our ability to perform them well,” said singer Karah West.
Slam Funk is very dedicated to their group and its progression. They all enjoy being a part of something they love.
“Being a part of this group means so much to me. This group is so loving and so much fun. I don’t know where I would be without each and every one of them,” Lovato said.
Every student a part of Slam Funk has an incredible love for music and sharing it with others.
“Music is so powerful, and I love being able to move people with our sound,” West said.
