Dan Krajewski named Eagle Scout
Senior Dan Krajewski is
doing his part to represent Grayslake North in his every- day life. Not only is Krajewski a leader
on the football field who will be a preferred walk- on for the University of Iowa, also known as a
strong can- didate for the football team, but he is a leader through the community. His leadership
earned him the honor of being named an Eagle Scout.
Krajewski has been in the Scouts program his whole life. His brother was the one that inspired him
to join the pro- gram. He has not only been in the Scouts program, but he has made a huge impact in
the club.
“I help younger Scouts by setting a good example and only intervene when what they are doing is
harm,” Krajewski said.
Krajewski does not only work with the younger mem- bers of his program, but he also gives back to
the commu- nity that he lives in. Krajewski volunteers at local Pads Shel- ters where he goes and
helps feed homeless people for the night. He also gives up time to help younger Scout members
achieve their dreams. There are many other projects that Krajewski and other members do throughout
the towns that they live in.
“He gives me an inspira- tion for all that he does for the community and other people throughout
our town,” said Krajewski’s friend Jack Krause.
Every Eagle Scout man- ages a different project in or around their community. Krajewski’s project
was re- pairing a walking path in his community so it was usable again. He fundraised and gathered
different materials by asking for donations and materials from various people and companies.
“It brings me a great sense of pride and accom- plishment,” Krajewski said.
Through the work that Eagle Scouts do, they improve daily life of people around them. Eagle Scouts
pride themselves on their world and improving the lives of others. “I have learned many
valuable skills that I will always carry with me,” Kra- jewski said.
Krajewski also recently attended a ceremony to be inducted into Eagle Scouts where many people
spoke on behalf of his accomplish-
ments.
