Boys basketball starts season strong

The boys basketball season kicked off at the Johnsburg Thanksgiving Tournament in hopes to prepare themselves for the season home opener vs. Lake Community High School.
The team is starting off their new season on the right foot. Led by returning starter junior Aidan Einloth, junior Bobby Krebs, and senior Dom DiProva, the Knights will be looking forward to a new year.
“After a summer and fall of hard work, we are ready to get back out there and make a name for ourselves,” said junior Bobby Krebs.
Long summer days and fall games occupied the off-season for the boys. They will be working toward getting a conference championship. The team features key players coming back in Einloth, DiProva, and Krebs. They also have new transfer student that are looking forward to getting in the mix.
“I think if we can approach the season with the right mindset and work ethic, then we can compete for a conference championship,” said varsity coach Todd Grunloh.
The FVC Conference will be tough competition this year. Like North, many teams have returning key players that will make for action packed games for the crowd and players. The two teams that will be the toughest opponents this year is Grayslake Central and Woodstock.
“I know if we work hard and keep the team together, then we will have a very good chance at winning the conference this year,” DiProva said.
The run at conference begins at Woodstock where the Knights took on their cross town rivals. They will go in with hopes to start their conference record at 1-0 and set up a good pathway for the rest of the season.
