The pom poms are packed, and the cheer mats have been rolled up. The team’s motivation and dedication never failed, whether they were exciting the audiences at Friday night football games, perfecting stunts in the gym, or perfecting their dance routine. GNHS fall cheer and dance season comes to an end, and the cheer and dance team and coaches give us a recap on how they stayed dedicated and how they stayed motivated throughout the season.
The cheerleaders and dancers put a lot of dedication into making their routines and dances clean and put together. Dance and Cheer have a set goal they accomplished and are still accomplishing this year. Sarah Georgia, GNHS Varsity Dance coach, said their biggest goal this year was to “learn how to work and improve as a team.” The dance team this year has put a lot of dedication into meeting their goal this fall. The cheer team also worked to meet their goals. Cheer Coach Samantha Mayer said, “Our biggest goal this year was to hit level 3 stunts by the end of Sept, which we did hit.”
This season, the dancers were happy with how this season ended and wrapped up. Captain Angelina Jeschke stated, “It has made such an impact on who I am now and has helped me grow in so many ways!”
Teagan McHugh, senior captain on the dance team, said that being a dancer means “collaborating effectively and making friends to put out an awesome performance.”
The dance team found plenty to love about performing this fall. Whether they simply love to dance or they love the vibes of dance during the fall. The dancers have different perspectives on fall dance.
“My favorite thing about fall dance is performing at football games,” Jeschke said.
McHugh added, “My favorite thing about fall dance is performing and spiriting on the sidelines at football games.”
As fall dance and cheer come to an end for the season, both teams look back with pride on all the things they’ve accomplished this season, from long practices or perfecting performances or stunts. With memories made and goals that have been met, the teams continue to represent teamwork, school spirit, and perseverance.
