Though the dance team’s season is about to come to an end, they have had a strong season, going to six competitions.
This year, the dance team has a few new members, but they give it their all when practicing and competing.
“Dancers really have given their absolute all to this team. Some dancers have never danced before; some came back after many years; some worked on perfecting the style of hiphop, and some even learned new tricks like headsprings and kip ups. They are extremely enthusiastic and came up with ideas for choreography in our Barbie-themed dance,” said head coach Cassie Mackey.
Toward the end of January, the team did a youth clinic for K-8th students to teach them a dance routine they had previously done during a football game.
“Each week we focused on getting better, and all of the little wins that came with it. I am very proud of this team! They are extremely resilient and dedicated,” Mackey said.
