Tech Campus has provided many opportunities and has helped many students start to choose their pathways for entering into college. North students are taking advantage of all the lessons and college-like experiences that are offered at Tech Campus.
Students have been more engaged with spending time at Tech Campus and also spending time in school. They like their interaction with students from other schools, and also taking classes that are mostly related to what they want to study for in college. Students taking Tech have also made sure to take advantage of getting the privilege to be in Tech Campus and work hard.
“I’ve learned that it’s just a great experience to have, especially getting outside of school and studying somewhere else,” said senior Gio Medina.
Students have also seen the benefits and opportunities that the College of Lake County provides. The major thing they have picked up on is the amount of money you save going to CLC.
“I’m thinking right now about going to CLC just to save up as much money as possible,” Medina said.
Teachers have made sure that the high school students at Tech Campus take into account everything that can help them for college. They try to provide them with information and advice so students aren’t confused about what to do after high school.
“I recommend researching, talking to specific people, and talking to counselors. Talk to your family to figure out the best idea,” said Tech Campus teacher Dan Horan.
Teachers at Tech Campus have enjoyed working with all students and have made sure to remain engaged and available with all the high school students.
“It’s very important to be an engaged and relatable teacher if your students like you, and you keep them engaged and paying attention, they will learn better,” Moran said
Students that are in Tech Campus have made sure to not fall behind in Tech as well as North schoolwork. They have made sure to balance out both subjects and pay as much attention as they can to get work done.
“I try to get all my homework done in the Tech classroom so I have time for other homework I have,” said senior Anthony Ippolito.
Seniors taking Tech Campus have made sure to try and influence underclassmen to take Tech Campus as it’ll only help them be more prepared and focused on college after high school.
“Look right away into what you’re thinking of taking and make sure you want to take it so you don’t waste the opportunity,” Ippolito said.
