The boys cross country team is getting prepared for conferences.
During the season they all set personal bests at the invitational hosted by Warren High School on September 16.
The team was looking to continue its success at the NLCC conference meet on Oct 14 at the Grant Bulldog Athletic Complex.
“The team has been training hard to improve. Our cross country coaches try enforcing about six runs a week and about six-eight hours of running,” said sophomore Oliver Davies.
Even though the training seems intense, the team still enjoys the sport. Davies believes that running can help people feel successful.
“I think this sport is very hard, and the stereotype of running is true about how hard running is, but after the run/ workout, you feel really good about yourself and accomplished,” Davies said.
Susan Miller has been an assistant coach for one year. She enjoys coaching and likes watching the team get better every run.
“The best part of coaching is our team supporting each other and seeing individual improvement in both practice and competition,” Miller said
