Boys golf has done well throughout the season and have made sure to make every game count. Players on the team are maintaining focus and putting in hard work to be as prepared as they can be to play Regionals.
Conference competition has gotten better and tougher, but the team makes sure to put forward their best effort and have picked up wins against Grant and Wauconda. The competition hasn’t affected their play at all, and players on the team hope to end the conference season on a good note.
“I’d say it’s definitely way stronger. Lakes has this one freshman who’s really good and Central is always putting up good numbers,” said senior Trevor Deering.
People on the team have made sure to always support one another through wins and losses. They’re making sure everyone on the team does not feel left out and show support for the team in general.
“I definitely am trying to get involved in the team more and cheer them on when it counts,” said senior player Vinny Marino.
The underclassmen have taken the advice and lessons the seniors on the team provide. They make sure to listen to everything so not only can they improve but also make the team better for future seasons.
“They’re very helpful and always open to teach you if you’re not doing something right,” said sophomore Ethan Miller.
