Girls basketball comes to a close
This year, the girls basketball had a great season. The team and coach both agree with how well the team played and communicated.
The girl had some special and favorite memories like beating the school’s rival team Grayslake Central for the first time in quite some time.
“My favorite memory was definitely beating Central this year for the first time in a very long time,” said senior Peyton Gerdes.
The girls varsity coach also had some words to share about that moment as well.
“Beating Central? Definitely ust the reaction that I will the girls face is like that was a priceless moment was great,” said Coach Brian Frericks.
Seniors leaving their high school sports teams is never easy, especially for coaches. Coach Frericks shares how he feels about the ending season with the seniors
“It’s definitely sad. This especially being my first year. This is the first group of seniors that were the ones that kind of took a chance on me, so I’ll forever be grateful for them. But definitely, they’re definitely all going to be missed a ton,” Frericks said.
Some players and even managers agree that a good thing that the team does well is communicate pretty well with each other.
“We communicate pretty well in defense and offense,” Gerdes said.
“Everyone gets along pretty nicely, and I think there’s really good communication between all the girls. It’s so cool,” said manager Ashley O’Brien.
