Apple releases the new iPhone 14

The iPhone 14 was released September 16 and is available now, with the iPhone 14 Plus coming Friday, October 7.

Apple users were excited to see Apple’s new reinvention with this new product. There were rumors of drastic changes which ate at the curiosity of those who followed up with the iPhone. Apple has rehabilitated their original design of the phone.

“It’s all completely different. As of now I have the iPhone 11. I’ve been waiting until a good new phone comes out. I think this may be it. Apple has changed so many things this time which is extremely refreshing compared to the last release,” said Marcus Howkowitz, an employee at T-Mobile.

For starters, they changed the layout of the front screen for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The notch at the top of the screen is now called a dynamic island. It’s a fully functional and interactive pill shaped storage area at the top of the iPhone where the usual notch goes. It houses the information from the apps you use, making the apps easy to access.

“Whenever Apple says they’re doing something different, it’s either nothing like the previous design or exactly like it. This time they actually made some changes that can differentiate from the older phones. I always hope for nicer colors, but it seems like some of the colors are kind of constant,” said Marica Collen, previous employee of Techie-Service Center-Repair.

As for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, they made the notch smaller adding an extra 21 percent of screen space.

Apple also added new safety features. It has a car crash response to detect when the user has been in a severe car crash and an emergency SOS via satellite.

“Crash detection calls for help when you can’t. iPhone 14 can detect a severe car crash, then call 911 and notify your emergency contacts,” according to information posted on Apple.com.

The camera on the iphone 14 was also updated. They have new features that the older phones did not have.

“A new main camera and improved image processing let you capture even more sensational shots in all kinds of light — especially low light,” according to Apple.com.

Finally Apple has removed the Sim card slit that has been on the older phones. Now Apple has an eSIM card.

“The eSIM makes things simple. It’s an industry-standard technology that lets you activate your new iPhone or add carriers digitally. So you’re calling and texting in no time. And unlike a physical card, eSIM can’t be removed if your iPhone is lost or stolen,” according to Apple.com

As of now, Apple plans to sell the new phones at newer prices than before. The iPphone 14 starts at $799, the iPhone 14 Plus is $899, and the iPhones 14 Pro and Pro Max are $999 and $1,399.
