Bass fishing team participated in the sectionals tournament

Two of Grayslake North’s boats participated in the tournament. Christian Coronado, Nik Green, Joe Swambar, and Chris Sterono participated in the tournament. There were 25 other boats that were competing. The coaches involved in the tournament were Jim and Clint Coronado. The team was very excited for Thursday’s tournament

“I am really excited for today’s tournament and I hope everything goes well,” Green said.

Unfortunately, Grayslake North did not do well in the tournament. Christian and Nik were only able to bring in one fish. Unfortunately, Joe and Chris got skunked and did not catch anything. Not all boats did well. Fishing has been really hard lately with the change in weather.

“It was really hard fishing today. The wind pushed the water, and the water cleared up. The bass does not like to hang out in the clear water,” coach Clint said.

The Lakes fishing team won the tournament with 8.64 pounds, and the secondnd and third had around 7. Unfortunately, Grayslake North did not qualify for State but they will be ready for next time.
