April 25, 2022

Eighth grade night here at Grayslake North is a chance to expose incoming students to what’s to come their freshman year of high school. Eighth grade night exhibits many classes, clubs, and activities for these students.

One of the students was Connor Vargo, one of the incoming freshmen. He says that he feels excited to come here to Grayslake North and that the activities he will be doing are lacrosse and football.

“Yeah, I’m really excited. I’m probably going to play football or lacrosse when I come here,” he said. Connor says that to prepare for coming to Grayslake North, “he will be focusing on the important things like grades, and working hard in sports.”

Incoming freshman James Rieber says that he feels excited coming into his first year of high school here at Grayslake North because he likes the new opportunity of coming here because they didn’t have many opportunities in middle school.

“Yeah, I like how there are going to be a lot more opportunities to learn something new,” Rieber said.

When asked about how he’s going to prepare for his freshman year of high school, James has stated that his sister Mikayla Rieber, who is currently a junior in high school but will be a senior next year, will help him.

“I have a sister named Mikala who is going to be with me next year and is probably going to help me with coming into high school,” Rieber said.

With all of these new incoming freshmen, it’s no surprise that the talent pool here will be wide and amazing.
