North loses a close game to Lakes off a buzzer-beater with a score of 60-59 

North’s dynamic backcourt duo Dominic Jankowski and Joseph Valera combined for an outstanding 42 points. As the game went into the fourth quarter, it went down to the wire becoming a game of traded baskets for both North and Lakes. Early within the quarter, Valera got into foul trouble forcing Coach Feinzimer to sub him out.

“I was very frustrated and wished I was still in the game,” Valera said.

It was seemingly good for North in the beginning of the fourth quarter being up by five points. Unfortunately at the end of the fourth quarter, Eli Roberts scored a game-winning buzzer beater which made the crowd go crazy. 

“I was very astonished, and it’s not the first time he has done it,” senior Cody Mendoza said.
