Last Saturday, junior Nicole Brown competed in the cross country Sectional race after qualifying at the Regional race the Saturday before.

“The Sectional course was really hilly and hard, making [my run] a little slower, but my time was 21:12 and I was 75th out of 137,” Brown said. 

Brown has worked hard all season to improve and become a better runner. Not only that, but she’s been doing cross country since fifth grade. 

“Now that Sectionals are over, I am looking forward to track season,” Brown said. 

Many of Brown’s friends came and supported her in her run. 

“I would say to people involved in cross country that it can be hard at times but just keep persevering and working hard,” Brown said. 

Brown believes that the cross country team is a positive place to be, and everyone is there for each other. 

“One of my favorite things about cross country is the atmosphere and how everyone supports and wants the best for each other,” Brown said. 

Brown does plan on doing cross country next year.
