Student Council hosts Red Ribbon Week to spread awareness
From October 25-29, Student Council held a spirit week to spread awareness for Red Ribbon Week.
“I hope that students can live drug-free lifestyles and can promote it amongst their peers outside of Red Ribbon week as well,” said senior Julia Jose.
The Student Council hopes to use spirit days to get students to help spread the importance of being drug free.
“I think dressing up according to the themes helps students understand the importance of Red Ribbon Week as each theme has a phrase- e.g PJ day the theme was “wake up drug-free” so by dressing up the students were abiding by and promoting each of these phrases that pertained to leading drug-free lifestyles as well,” Jose said.
Many students found it as not only a way to spread awareness of serious topics, but as a way to bring the school environment together.
“It helps bring our school community together, and we all get out of our comfort zones for a good cause,” said senior Armani Diaz.
