Boys tennis team starts with winning record
The boys tennis team is off to an excellent start this season, with a current record of 6-3 overall and 2-1 in conference play.
“We are off to a great start this season. I am confident that this group will continue to work hard and improve to achieve our goals,” said coach Matthew McDonald.
Everyone has been working hard toward their goals this season.
“The main goal is to win conference. We have a lot of good players, so we have a very good shot this year. Another goal is to win Sectionals like we did in 2019,” said sophomore Varun Gullapalli.
There have been some amazing games and examples of teamwork already.
“We are only three weeks into our season, but we had a very outstanding match against Lake Zurich on April 22. We went 7-0 in our victory over Lake Zurich! Jacob Marshall and Joey Saum showed great resilience as they battled back after losing their first set at the 2 doubles position,” McDonald said.
With everything going on, the boys tennis team has been working hard with each other.
“Libertyville was a good one. We didn’t expect to do very well against Libertyville, but we kept our momentum. It was a really close game match,” Gullapalli said.
Boys tennis is still going on at the moment, as the players continue to work to achieve their goals and also look to have a fun season.
